How I think
about travel

Travel is not an escape.
It's a form of attention.

I've watched a lot of people go on holiday and come back unchanged. And I've watched others take the exact same trip and return with a different way of seeing. The difference isn't the destination — it's the quality of their attention.

What I want to offer here isn't a listicle of things to do. It's a practice of noticing. Of being where you actually are instead of already thinking about the photo, the story, the next stop.

That's what these journals are. Notes on what I noticed. What surprised me. What didn't match my expertise.

i.

Slow down before you speed up

The best trip you'll ever take is the one where you spend two nights somewhere most people spend two hours.

ii.

Logistics are love letters

Getting the details right — the right train, the right table, the right hour — is how you say: I thought about you before you arrived.

iii.

The detour is the destination

Every trip I've loved has had one moment that wasn't in the plan. Leave space for that. Always.
